UNESCO – "World Day for Audiovisual Heritage"
„Das kalte Herz“ (The Cold Heart)

27 October has been proclaimed as World Day for Audiovisual Heritage by UNESCO’s General Conference to raise awareness of the importance of audiovisual documents and to draw attention to the urgent need to protect them.
In this year the DEFA-Foundation present at the first time a HD-scanned and digitised DEFA film to a cinema audience. The first DEFA f colour film "Das kalte Herz" (The Cold Heart) by Paul Verhoeven, produced at the DEFA studios in 1950, is shown at the Berlin Cinema Toni on the occasion of the 60th jubilee of the film.
Helmut Morsbach, managing director of the DEFA-Foundation, is going to speak about the shooting and Christian Schöppl ,Studio Hamburg, explains the restoration of the film.
