The film stocks of the DEFA Foundation consist of
- Productions of the DEFA-Studio for Documentary Films,
- Productions of the DEFA-Studio for Fiction Films,
- Productions of the DEFA-Studio for Animated Films,
- Productions of the DEFA-Studio for Synchronisation,
- Documentary films, which have been produced in order of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs,
- Interviews with DEFA artists,
- Productions of the Thomas Grimm Archive of Contemporary Witnesses,
- Productions of the Cintec GmbH,
- all non-published and outtake materials from the productions from the DEFA-Studio for Fiction Film, the DEFA-Studio for Documentary Film, the DEFA-Studio for Animated Film and the DEFA-Studio for Synchronisation
- Documents, advertising material, photos, posters, screenplay drafts, notes, scripts e.c. of productions and distribution
Productions, which had been commissioned by television and other clients realised in the DEFA studios are not part of the DEFA film stocks.
All films, which belong to the film stocks, are listed with filmographic information in the database accessible through the Foundation's homepage. It will be continuously supplemented.
